The Merchants Guild controls most of the trade in and out of Brazendell, though the town guard sometimes sends for supplies when necessary. The Guild buys and sells gear and weapons, as well as salvaged goods looted from savage humanoids in the wild. The Guildmaster is Finn, a shrewd and portly man. He keeps counsel with his wife Anara, who seems much more athletically inclined than her husband.
The Guild maintains a small team of soldiers to protect caravans. Finn and Anara were captured by hobgoblins, along with two guards, Eddard and Paul. Paul was taken by the hobgoblins before the party rescued the merchants, and he has not been seen since.
In gratitude for their rescue, Finn gave each party member a 1-year guild membership, which entitles them to buy goods at half price.
